Another mystery in the forest.

Rumor has it that these are the remains of an ancient castle. The massive moss covered stone blocks are strewn over a huge area, looking like there must have been many enormous buildings. The whole site sits upon high hills or mounds that are obviously even more ancient. On the tops of these hills are standing stones and stone circles dating from Celtic times. With so much moss everywhere it looks more like a moss garden!

What an amazing place to live in, where rocks are made into homes and then back into rocks again. Beautiful shot.

:wow: another keeper ... you captured the moss well.... some times (for some reason) moss doesn't translate well on film, it looses its mossyness... :giggle:

What might have happened? They say that fairies are as warlike as humans. Could these remains be evidence of a fairy battle?

This reminds me of some bluffs around where I grew up. I used to pretend they were ancient castle ruins. But there are no ancient ruins in Canada :(

I love it because it reminds me of my home place when I was young. The colours are really sharp, but not overdone. The angle is the best, as you can see the sky too.

I mean, it has to be beautiful up there....just because the sky and the light is so inviting. It becons us to keep on going and we'll see all the secrets of the stones.  :+fav:
